A very useful tip of avoiding copyright issues in papers regarding using internet images

I recently meet a problem regarding copyright issues of using Internet images. The journal office require me to get written permissions from copyright owners for every image appeared in the paper. This is a very big job to do and needs to carefully trace each image source and get contact with their original owner. After several weeks contacting, I almost finished that work and I will replace other images which I haven’t got reply from owners or I can’t find the original owner.

During this time, I found a very powerful tip of avoiding such copyright issues in the future research. Google image search has a tool to search within those images which allows academic usages. If we have this function enabled in the future, that might save us a lot of efforts.
